EURO Summer
This dress is a perfect example of what a little perspective will do for you... It has been hanging on my Lula Manni for weeks now wondering if her future would involve a trip to Goodwill. Sometimes things just don't turn out the way we think they will...and that goes for dress designs as well. When it was done I literally thought this dress was the worst, most ugliest thing I had ever made. And I have spent hours just sitting and staring trying to figure out what in the heck I could do to salvage it. All the while, day after day, London had been begging me to wear it. Apparently she knew something I didn't. Finally I gave in thinking oh who cares no one would ever buy that anyway. Then something amazing happened...somehow as my London put it on and ran out into the warm Florida sunshine that dress took on a life of it's own and became one of my favorites of all time. Go figure.

A Better Day for Fish
I just listed this set, so if you want to peak here is the Dress and here are the Jeans. This has got to be my favorite set so far. I know I think I say that every time but this time I mean it! I just adore all these colors and prints together. And this one I made with less volume than usuall so it can be more for everyday wear- it is very cool and lightweight when worn alone too.
And finally Sparkle Kitty is listed too. Since this one was a little on the snug side for my ever growing girl, I have listed it as a ready to ship 3 4 5. Of course I HAD to make another for my London, she could never give up all these Sparkles without one of her own.
I am STILL waiting by my mailbox for my Sis Boom fabric for my Cherry Baby Skirt that is suppose to be read for a launch on Thursday. AAAAACCCCKKK! I am hoping to be sewing like a mad woman tonight.

Tropical Fish Pt. 2 (I just can't get enough!)
I just love this Tropical Fish line sooo much that I can't stop making stuff to match it. This dress is full of little goldfish (and pink ones too!) with sparkly sequin bubbles, rick rack seaweed and tons of ribbons. More pics to some of the jean capris. I had a very bad combination of things occuring this afternoon- a camera with dying batteries and a VERY cranky little girl in need of a siesta (even though she did not think so). Thankfully they are both "recharging" so to speak...we'll try again tomorrow.

Sparkle Kitty is Coming Soon
These cats are all glammed out with sparkles, lace, bracelets, and even purses! Cats with purses, oh my!
**********UPDATE**************
Well, something hit me like a ton of bricks as I have been editing these pics... London CANNOT wear a 4T ON top anymore. That top is way to short on her! I looked at the 5T top this morning when I was trying to decide which size to make for her and it looked way too long to my eye. My eye needs a wake up call apparently.
DAng, what is going on here??!! I think she is growing overnight! She has been complaining a lot lately saying "my hip hurts" or "my legs hurt"- I think she has been having growing pains or something. I already made that skirt 1 inch longer than the turtle one and you can't even tell it. What is this madness?? She is about to grow out of the size range I usually list for my customs. Soon, I'll be going to the BIG girls section for tops .......NOOOOOOOOOO......
Hmmm... maybe I will be offerring this set as ready to ship in a 4T since she only wore it for 10 minutes. I have a few other ideas rolling around up there for a new Fishy dress set anyway.
It is a miracle we have any photos at all- she was being a serious pill taking these. If you make twirl skirts, what would you need a model to do?? Umm, TWIRL in them, right? She absolutly refused to twirl today. What little girl doesn't like to twirl??? I guess the one whose mommy keeps saying "Come on spin it for me baby, please please, do you want a lollipop?"

Happy Mother's Day, A Tag & Journal Modiste!
Yes, I know it's a little early. But I had the most delicious tea and cake at my daughter's Mother's Day Tea Party at school today. She actually served ME for a change- that was very interesting. And she ended up eating all the icing out of our little cup before the cakes were even passed around so they were a little dry, but oh so SWEET.
See all of the cute little bobs on her friends??? I just love bobs on little girls, but I cannot bring myself to cut her hair. I was traumatized when my own mom cut off my flowing "Crystal Gayle" locks and gave me a "Dorthy Hamel" doo in kindergarten.
OK now for the tag... thanks to Annette of Pickles & Co for showing me that it is OK to tag people you don't actually know that well. I tagged some total strangers last time and was worried i may be breaking some invisible bloggy etiquette rule. Whew! I am not too terribly interesting though people, so to cut down on the tag mania I am just gonna tag a few who haven't had it yet...K? (Man, some more people need to get bloggin so we can spread this around more evenly!)
1- Since my children have used my body to make their entrances into this world, it has never been the same, and I'm not just talking about the usual droops and expansions that come with babes. I now have these crazy meat "issues" that never went away after pregnancies. I can't even actually pinpoint what the aversion is to, but I can hardly eat anything with ground beef, no steak at all, and chicken only if it feels a certain way. Don't ask me what that way is- I couldn't tell you- but I know the wrong way when I taste it. Just give me salad and some brownies instead!
2- I have not woken up on my body's own natural accord in over 6 years.
3- This may make me sound a little like a basket case, but somehow with children all my minor fears have turned into something close to phobias. I guess it is the fear of something happening that will take me out of this life and leave them behind. I do anything I can not to stop in traffic under any kind of overpass. When I get on a long bridge I frantically review in my mind how I would get everyone unstrapped and out of the car should it come tumbling down and hold onto them all as I swim us to safety. I have reoccurring nigthmares about tidal waves.
4- I am completely fascinated with trees. I have a degree in biology, so I understand how it works (or at least I used to remember), but it still seems totally impossible that something so big and heavy can stand up and not fall over day after day. My husband's dream vacation is to go to Las Vegas which sounds like las hell to me, mine is to the Giant Redwoods Forest. And I have a "thing" about the look of the sun as it filters through a tree's branches. I catch myself including photos in my listings that are in no way flattering to the set, but show some great filtered sunlight.
5- I am a horrible planner when it comes to groceries and dinners. I go to Publix at least 5 days a week.
6- I am in love trees, but give me a plant and I will kill it (quickly).
7- Some INSANE person decided that I should be the Designer of the Week on Journal Modiste! What is this world coming too??!!
Ok...so here are the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
K- I tag...
Natalee of Small Something
Sarah of Bella Jo Bows
PamperingBeki
Kelly of Emerson Rose
Debbie! When are going to start a blog???? Maybe you are waiting til you sprout a third arm so you will have the time??
