Rambly Ramble ....

(to the tune of the farmer in the dell)

i want to go to bed, i want to go to bed, i'm waiting on the dryer, i want to go to bed....

i got these unbelievable 600 thread count egyptian cotton sheets from my MIL last christmas and they are just pure heaven... i am spoiled now... i can't go back to my old 400 tc's but i surely cannot afford to buy any more of these suckers....i think they are the biltmore estates brand...oh my...so when they get washed i just wait it out...earlier tonight L1 was eating a bowl of peas on our bed... the boys is NUTS for peas...yes just plain peas out of the can...in fact he will eat the whole can all at once...we are blessed i know :).....well he is watching snow buddies....you know, the one with the talking dogs...have you seen it???....the phrase "oh sweet mama" echos through our house almost constantly these days....L2 cracks herself up on a daily basis saying it over and over... i don't know why but they have a fascination with watching movies in our bed...(i think it must be the sheets!)...so anyway are you thinking why did i let him eat peas in my bed??...well don't ask me such a ridiculous question... just cause, ok?.... (if your child would eat a whole can of peas wouldn't you be so happy you'd let him do it almost anywhere?)....of course it is a very thrilling and exciting movie...so much so that it makes a little boy spill and squish peas...(if you are thinking of asking why again just don't, ok?)...now you see how i got to this place...i want to go to bed....

(and don't be fooled by that time thingie down there that says it is only 9 something...that's for all you california people...here in FL its a whole other time zone....and it's late!)

Back to School... EURO Style

Photobucket

So are ya checking out her new moves???? My very un-modely girl looks over my shoulder the other day when I was looking at some of my Pea Sistas' auctions (It was Allison's ((yes another one!)) of FinnJax Designs) and wants to know 3 things:

Photobucket

1- Who is that mommy??? Me: That is Finnley.
2- What is she doing? Me: She's modeling clothes for her mommy to take pictures of, you know, like what you do for me.
3- I don't do it like that way, do I? Me: Well, see how she is standing still and looking at the camera- she's doing a pose. I bet her mommy only has to take pictures for a minute and then they are done since she doesn't have to chase Finnley around the yard. Do you want to try some poses like that next time so we can be done real quick??

Photobucket

.....Long PAUSE.....then she says "Sure Mommy" like she's all grown up all of a sudden. And sure enough she was true to her word and gave me some poses this time- THANK YOU Finnley!!

We're OFF!!!!! (and a PETTI!!)

Photobucket

Oh boy, we are off to stay with the inlaws at their beach condo just south of here. The kids are CRAZY excited. This is a yearly thing with us, and they have really started to look forward to it. I was looking back through our pics from last year and I could not believe it but I had NO pics of the actual beach- just pool shots and our trip to see the Lighthouse (L1's favorite part). Be back on Wednesday.

Beads Don't Smell Good

I so wish I had a picture of the momentous event that occured here this morning- I think? On our way to the video game store to buy robby's Father's Day Gift with the kids, I hear Lon start to cry and yell "Get out! Get out!" I'm thinking that's a funny way to tell her brother to stop touching her, but whatever. She then proceeds to tell me in a very weepy voice that there is a bead stuck in her nose and she can't breathe. EEERK! I whipped in a parking spot and jumped out to to get to the back seat. I saw the bead alright, but just barely- it was wedged in way past the point of being rescued by me. She could breathe just fine, but was very scared so even though I was FREAKIN OUT, I did my best good mommy imitation and stayed very calm, reassuring her that of course the dr would be able to get it out no problem (even though I was not so sure).

As I raced to the emergency clinic a few miles down the road I was thinking about what would happen if I got pulled over and had to tell the nice occifer that we had a "bead up nose" emergency. Would he believe me?? How many times a day does he hear that one?? I was so shocked when we arrived how fast they took us back and within probably 7 minutes from the time of stuffage the dr popped it right out. Amazing!

So after this whole incident I felt like something profound had happened and I really needed to find her baby book that I have documented almost nothing in and write this down. " 12 Months- First Steps, 3.5 Years- Stuffed a Bead Up Nose" But instead I decided just to tell you guys!

So do you want to know where this bead came from???? We had just left the grocery store where we dumped $70 someodd dollars worth of change into one of those coin counting machines where they rob you blind cause you are too lazy to count your own money. Among the other junk that we found mixed in with these coins was this one pink bead. She would give no reply as to WHY in the bejesis she shoved it up there, but when I asked her if she was trying to smell it, she looked at me a while and then said yes. So I further inquired if it smelled good- "No, beads don't smell good mommy". In case you wanted to know.....

My Baby's First Blister!

Photobucket

Photobucket

OK, first off, I know you are wondering just what in the world Lukie is about to do with that hand posed above her head and that smirk...yeah...I know it looks like he is about to give her a good whack, but he actually patted her gently on the head and said "Good job, London".

So my baby had her very first recital tonight, and it was such an exciting time for all of us. I think she was in shock that mommy was actually suggesting that she wear that much make-up, and the REAL makeup too, not that play stuff. I was so proud of her because she did all of it with a big smile on her face and and even bigger blister on her heel.

Remember when I said she was gaining pounds over night??? Well, apparently her feet have been gaining inches at the same time. I swear we just bought her new tap shoes 3 weeks ago and I thought those were big at a mere size 10.5. At dress rehersal this morning I noticed she was not tapping like her usuall self and when she came off the stage she was crying that her shoe hurt. well, lo and behold she had a huge open blister on her heal. So after a trip to Walgreens for bandage supplies and the dance store for more new shoes (a 11.5 this time), I was hoping for the best tonight.

I stayed back with her thinking I would try to wait til the last minute to put on her new shoes, but she would have none of that and wanted to be just like the other girls who were tapping away 45 minutes before they were to go on. She never even complained once.

My BIG Guy

Photobucket

Well, today was a happy day with LOTS of tears- my Lukie's last day of kindergarden! This day was such a HUGE victory for us. As I have blogged before, Luke has autism and we were told by a neurologist a few years ago that he would probably always be in special education classes. Well, not only was he NOT in a special ed class this year, he also passed the year with regular K standards!!!! YEA!!! I am so proud of my big guy!
